What If Love Came In Coupons?

If love came in coupons, would you fall in line to get one?

The idea of selling emotions sounds a lot of fun.

If love came in coupons, would you share one with me?

However, the question, is your love for free?

If love came in coupons, divide ’em in three.

One for you.

One for me.

One for eternity.

Seasons of Love (Rent)

Remember the love. πŸ™‚

Five hundred twenty-five thousand
six hundred minutes,
five hundred twenty-five thousand
moments so dear.
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
six hundred minutes,
how do you measure- measure a year?
In daylights, in sunsets,
in midnights, in cups of coffee,
in inches, in miles,
in laughter, in strife?
In five hundred twenty-five thousand
six hundred minutes
how do you measure
a year in the life?
How about love? (3X)
Measure in love.
Seasons of love (Seasons of love)
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
six hundred minutes,
five hundred twenty-five thousand
journeys to plan.
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
six hundred minutes,
how do you measure
the life of a woman or man?
In truths that she learned
or in times that he cried?
In bridges he burned
or the way that she died?
It’s time now, to sing out
though the story never ends.
Let’s celebrate,
remember a year
in the life of friends.
Remember the love (3X)
Measure in love.
Measure, measure your life in love.
Seasons of love…

From the musical (Broadway film/play) RENT, this song is a very popular piece among show and church choirs. Despite the complex musical arrangement especially at the end (when the soprano belts her thing), many still attempt to sing this melodic masterpiece of Jonathan Larson.

Though it’s a hard piece to sing, I still love it. Only a few nights ago, I was able to listen to Coro Tomasino’s rendition of the song. The clean notes only tell me that I need to practice more. :>

The message of the song is clear and simple: man’s life is measured not by any unit there is that science or mathematics can provide. The five hundred twenty-five thousand and six hundred minutes of a year cannot be measured alone by the times we face success or defeat.

So how do we really measure a year?

We measure life by the relationships we create.

We measure life in the smiles we put on other people’s faces.

We measure life by the number of people whose lives we have touched so dearly.

We measure life in LOVE. ❀ ❀ ❀

Back For Good (Take That)

I guess now it’s time for me to give up
I feel it’s time
Got a picture of you beside me
Got your lipstick mark still on your coffee cup
Got a fist of pure emotion
Got a head of shattered dreams
Gotta leave it, gotta leave it all behind now

Whatever I said, whatever I did I didn’t mean it
I just want you back for good
Whenever I’m wrong just tell me the song and I’ll sing it
You’ll be right and understood

Unaware but underlined I figured out this story
It wasn’t good
But in the corner of my mind I celebrated glory
But that was not to be
In the twist of separation you excelled at being free
Can’t you find a little room inside for me

Whatever I said, whatever I did I didn’t mean it
I just want you back for good
Whenever I’m wrong just tell me the song and I’ll sing it
You’ll be right and understood

And we’ll be together, this time is forever
We’ll be fighting and forever we will be
So complete in our love
We will never be uncovered again

Whatever I said, whatever I did I didn’t mean it
I just want you back for good
Whenever I’m wrong just tell me the song and I’ll sing it
You’ll be right and understood

I guess now it’s time, that you came back for good

Take That. The super boyband where Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams started to make names. This song remains to be a hit these days, popular among those who love to listen to cheesy yet heartbreaking songs and the best of the 90’s music.

Being one of the firsts I learned to play in the guitar, “Back For Good” is easy to sing along with. The melody is very catchy – so catchy that one hearing could make you belt the notes out.

Here is another rendition performed by the equally-talented hottie Alejandro Manzano of Boyce Avenue:

I featured “Back For Good” mainly because…

this is the jam you could listen to when the rain’s just pouring mad…

and well, if you choose to take some time off and switch that “emo” button on. πŸ˜‰

Migraine (Moonstar88)

I’m not much of a fan of Moonstar88. Even if I know their song Torete and eventually learned how to sing this while playing the guitar by heart, I actually did not go torete over the band. πŸ™‚

I don’t even have their hit song (abovementioned) in my playlist. Blame it on my sister who’s responsible for my itunes library, I have their Migraine all the while.

Oo nga pala,
Hindi nga pala tayo
Hanggang dito lang ako
Nangangarap na mapa-sayo

Hindi sinasadya
Na hanapin pa ang lugar ko
Asan nga ba ako?
Andiyan pa ba sa iyo?

Nahihilo, nalilito
Asan ba ‘ko sa’yo?
Aasa ba ko sayo?

Nasusuka ako,
Kinakain na ang loob
Masakit na mga tuhod,
Kailangan bang lumuhod?

Gusto ko lang naman,
Yung totoo
Hindi po ang sagot,
Ay ‘di rin isang tanong
Nahihilo, nalilito
Asan ba ko sayo?
Asan ba ko sayo?
Nahihilo, nalilito
Asan ba ko sayo?
Aasa ba ko sayo?

Dahil ‘di na makatulog (makatulog)
Hindi na makakain (makakain)
Dahil ‘di na makatawa (makatawa)
Dahil hindi na…

Oo nga pala, hindi nga pala tayo
Hanggang dito na lang ako

Nahihilo, nalilito
Asan ba ko sayo? Asan ba ko sayo?
Nahihilo, nalilito
Asan ba ko sayo? Aasa ba ko sayo?
Nahihilo… Nahihilo…
Nalilito…

I know that in one way or another, you know someone who has this kind of love story. It could be your brother, sister, friend or foe; this dilemma is not so new.

Reality check: it could be you.

How do you know if you’re just part of some “sweet intoxication of fake reality and real illusions”?

Migraine is the perfect theme song of every pseudo-relationship. <—-click the link for definition —- this “whatever it is” stage should not be a surprise if one of you (well, most of the time it’s the one who keeps on assuming) experiences migraine… from time to time.

We can’t just wait for the migraine to pass. In no time, the next wave ofΒ  agony will hit…. then what? Have it pass again?

But alas, one cannot question the power and pleasure of love. 😐
